El ex fiscal en Nueva Orleans Harry Rosenberg lo llamó un sábado triste para mucha gente y le dijo a Dave Cohen de WWL que anticiparía que habrá demandas colectivas o múltiples demandas colectivas presentadas contra la Junta de Alcantarillado y Aguas y otras personas.

“Estoy casi seguro de que va a ver una serie de demandas que van a salir de esto, y siento usar ese juego de palabras, pero, que van a emanar de lo que vimos el sábado antes Por último -dijo Rosenberg-.

El ex Fiscal de los Estados Unidos dice que se han presentado contra la Junta de Alcantarillado y Aguas y la ciudad cuando se trata de reparar calles o de reemplazar tuberías en la ciudad.

“Creo que cuando ves este tipo de incidentes ocurren como experimentamos ese sábado, creo, inevitablemente, si esas personas tienen dinero o creen que la compañía de seguros detrás de esa gente tiene dinero, que las acciones de clase serán presentadas”, Rosenberg adicional.

Y Rosenberg dice que aunque ciertamente debería haber una investigación interna, también podríamos ver una agencia externa, ya sea la Oficina del Inspector General, el Estado o alguna agencia federal, que pudiera examinar exactamente qué ocurrió y por qué ocurrió.

Class action lawsuits and investigations into the Sewerage & Water Board mishaps could happen

Could we see some class action lawsuits or individual suits coming in the wake of the flooding that happened just about 2 weeks ago?

Former US Attorney in New Orleans Harry Rosenberg called it a sad Saturday for a lot of people and told WWL’s Dave Cohen, he would anticipate there will be class action lawsuits or multiple class action lawsuits filed against the Sewerage & Water Board and other individuals.

“I’m almost certain that you’re going to see a series of lawsuits that are going to flow out of this, and I’m sorry to use that pun, but, that are going to emanate from what we saw the Saturday before last,” Rosenberg said.

The former U.S. Attorney says there have been those filed against the Sewerage & Water Board and the city when it came to repairing streets or engaging in replacing pipes in the city.

“I think when you see this type of incident occur as we experienced that Saturday, I believe, inevitably, whether those folks have money or they believe that the insurance company’s behind those folks have money, that the class actions will be filed,” Rosenberg added.

And Rosenberg says while there certainly should be an internal investigation, we could also see an outside agency whether it’s the Office of Inspector General, the State, or some federal agency, that could examine exactly what occurred and why it occurred.
