La oficina del sheriff de St. Tammany Parish dice hoy que arrestó a 29 sospechosos después de una investigación sobre el comercio de metanfetaminas. Las investigaciones se concentraron en las áreas de Pearl River, Talisheek y Hickory.

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s office today says it has arrested 29 suspects after an investigation into the methamphetamine trade. The investigations concentrated on the areas of Pearl River, Talisheek, and Hickory.

With the help of police departments in Slidell and Mandeville, the sheriff’s office says detectives «conducted countless hours of surveillance and interviewed numerous subjects to target the illegal use and distribution of methamphetamine.»

According to the sheriff’s office, the meth is believed to have been made in foreign countries and smuggled into the United States.

«The St. Tammany Parish Narcotics Task Force has received positive feedback from the residents of these local communities,» Sheriff Randy Smith said. «I applaud the hard work of our Narcotics Task Force and our Patrol Division in working together to eradicate these dangerous drugs from our streets.»
