Copa de Oro de la Concacaf 2017
La Copa de Oro 2017 es la decimocuarta edición del máximo torneo de selecciones organizado por la Confederación de Fútbol Asociación de Norteamérica, Centroamérica y el Caribe (Concacaf por sus siglas en inglés).1 El torneo inició el 7 de julio de 2017 y terminará el 26 de julio del mismo año.
Estadios
El 19 de diciembre de 2016 Concacaf anunció las 13 ciudades sedes del torneo y los estadios de la fase de grupos y de cuartos de final.3 El 1 de febrero de 2017 fue anunciado al Levi’s Stadium como sede para albergar la final de este torneo.4 El 14 de febrero de 2017 se anunciaron los estadios que albergarán los partidos de semifinales, partido por el tercer lugar y final. 5
Los estadios de Harrison, Frisco y Houston son los únicos que albergan equipos de la Major League Soccer. Los demás son estadios de fútbol americano. Mientras que los estadios de Nashville, Cleveland y San Francisco debutan en este certamen.
Formato de competición
El torneo se desarrolla dividido en cinco etapas: fase de grupos, cuartos de final, semifinales, partido por el tercer lugar y final.
En la fase de grupos los doce equipos participantes se dividen en 3 grupos de 4 equipos, cada equipo juega una vez contra sus rivales de grupo con un sistema de todos contra todos, los equipos son clasificados en los grupos según los puntos obtenidos en todos sus partidos jugados los cuales son otorgados de la siguiente manera:
3 puntos por partido ganado.
1 punto por partido empatado.
0 puntos por partido perdido.
Clasifican a los cuartos de final los dos primeros lugares de cada grupo, así como los dos mejores terceros. Si al término de la fase de grupos dos o más equipos terminan empatados en puntos se aplican los siguientes criterios de desempate:
La diferencia de goles en los partidos del grupo.
La mayor cantidad de puntos obtenidos en los partidos entre los equipos en cuestión.
Sorteo por parte del Comité de la Copa Oro.
La clasificación de los dos mejores terceros se determina mediante los siguientes criterios:
La mayor cantidad de puntos obtenidos en los partidos de grupo.
La diferencia de goles en los partidos de grupo.
La mayor cantidad de goles anotados en los partidos de grupo.
Sorteo por parte del Comité de la Copa Oro.
En los cuartos de final los 8 equipos clasificados a esta instancia forman 4 series de dos equipos, los ganadores de cada serie clasifican a las semifinales, los perdedores de las semifinales juegan el partido por el tercer lugar y los ganadores disputan la final del torneo. Los enfrentamientos de cuartos de final y semifinales se determinaron de la siguiente manera:

Los cuartos de final, semifinales, partido por el tercer lugar y final se juegan con un sistema de eliminación directa, si algún partido de estas fases termina empatado luego de los noventa minutos de tiempo de juego reglamentario se procede a jugar un tiempo extra consistente en dos periodos de 15 minutos, si la igualdad persiste se define al ganador mediante tiros desde el punto penal.
Clasificación
Como desde la primera edición del torneo las tres selecciones pertenecientes a la Unión Norteamericana de Fútbol (NAFU), Canadá, Estados Unidos y México clasificaron automáticamente, mientras que las selecciones pertenecientes a la Unión Centroamericana de Fútbol (UNCAF) y a la Unión Caribeña de Fútbol (CFU) disputaron torneos clasificatorios que fueron a su vez los torneos regionales de ambos organismos subordinados de la Concacaf, la repartición de los 9 cupos en cuestión fue la siguiente:
Centroamérica: 4,5
Caribe: 4,5
Un repechaje entre el quinto clasificado de ambos torneos regionales definiría al décimo segundo y último clasificado a la Copa de Oro.
La Copa Centroamericana 2017 se llevó a cabo en Panamá del 13 al 22 de enero de 2017 y en ella participaron 6 de las 7 selecciones que conforman la UNCAF, debido a que Guatemala quedó fuera del torneo, debido a su suspensión por parte de la FIFA de no poder competir en ningún torneo internacional, tanto a nivel de clubes como de selección. Los 4 primeros lugares de esta competencia consiguieron su clasificación directa al torneo, siendo Honduras, Panamá, Costa Rica y El Salvador los clasificados.
La Copa del Caribe de 2016 constó de varias rondas preliminares antes de llegar a la ronda final, en esta última se encuentran participando 12 equipos desde el 5 de octubre hasta el 13 de noviembre del año en curso. Los 4 primeros lugares de este torneo ya consiguieron su clasificación directa, y estos fueron, Martinica, Curazao, Guayana Francesa y finalmente Jamaica, siendo Curazao y Guayana Francesa los que debutarán en esta edición.
Mientras que el quinto lugar de la Copa del Caribe de 2016, Haití, se enfrentaría al quinto lugar de la Copa Centroamericana 2017, Nicaragua, para definir al último clasificado a la Copa Oro 2017, los días del repechaje fueron el 24 y 28 de marzo de 2017. Nicaragua se clasificaría tras un global de 4-3 tras perder la ida 3-1 y ganar la vuelta 3-0. 6

CONCACAF 2017 Gold Cup
The 2017 Gold Cup is the fourteenth edition of the largest tournament of selections organized by the Confederation of Football Association of North America, Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF) .1 The tournament started on July 7, 2017 and will end the July 26 of the same year.
Stadiums
On December 19, 2016, Concacaf announced the 13 host cities of the tournament and the stadiums of the group stage and quarterfinals.3 On February 1, 2017, Levi’s Stadium was announced as the venue to host the final of this tournament. 4 On February 14, 2017, the stadiums that will host the semi-final matches were announced for the third and final match. 5
The stadiums of Harrison, Frisco and Houston are the only ones hosting Major League Soccer teams. The others are football stadiums. While the stadiums of Nashville, Cleveland and San Francisco debut in this contest.
Competition format
The tournament is divided into five stages: group stage, quarter-finals, semi-finals, third-place and final match.
In the group phase the twelve teams are divided into 3 groups of 4 teams, each team plays once against their group rivals with a system of all against all, teams are classified into groups according to the points obtained in all their Games played which are awarded as follows:
3 points per game won.
1 point per game tied.
0 points per game lost.
They qualify to the quarterfinals the first two places of each group, as well as the two best third parties. If at the end of the group stage two or more teams end up tied for points the following tiebreaker criteria apply:
The difference of goals in the group matches.
The highest number of points obtained in the matches between the teams in question.

In the quarterfinals the 8 teams classified in this instance form 4 series of two teams, the winners of each series classify the semifinals, the losers of the semifinals play the game for the third place and the winners dispute the final of the tournament. The quarter-finals, semi-finals, third-place and final match are played with a direct elimination system, if any match of these phases ends tied after the ninety minutes of statutory play time proceed to play extra time consisting of Two periods of 15 minutes, if equality persists, the winner is defined by penalties from the penalty point.
Classification
As of the first edition of the tournament the three selections belonging to the American Football Union (NAFU), Canada, the United States and Mexico automatically qualified, while the selections belonging to the Central American Football Union (UNCAF) and the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) competed in qualifying tournaments that were in turn the regional tournaments of both subordinate agencies of the Concacaf, the allocation of the 9 quotas in question was as follows:
Central America: 4.5
Caribbean: 4,5
A game between the fifth classified of both regional tournaments would define to the twelfth and last classified to Glass of Gold.
The 2017 Central American Cup was held in Panama from January 13 to 22, 2017 and 6 of the 7 teams that made up the UNCAF participated because Guatemala was out of the tournament due to its suspension by FIFA Of not being able to compete in any international tournament, both at the level of clubs and of selection. The first four places of this competition were classified directly to the tournament, with Honduras, Panama, Costa Rica and El Salvador classified.
The Caribbean Cup of 2016 consisted of several preliminary rounds before reaching the final round, in the latter are participating 12 teams from 5 October to 13 November this year. The first 4 places of this tournament already obtained their direct classification, and these were, Martinique, Curazao, French Guiana and finally Jamaica, being Curazao and French Guiana that will debut in this edition.
While fifth place in the Caribbean Cup 2016, Haiti, would face fifth place in the Central American Cup 2017, Nicaragua, to define the last qualified to the 2017 Gold Cup, the days of the repechaje were on March 24 and 28 Of 2017. Nicaragua would be classified after a global of 4-3 after losing the going 3-1 and gaining the return 3-0. 6
