WASHINGTON (AP) – El presidente Donald Trump anuncia fuertes aranceles sobre las importaciones de acero y aluminio para abordar lo que, según él, es un «asalto a nuestro país».
El Sr. Trump dice que se aplicará un impuesto del 25 por ciento a las importaciones de acero y se agregará un 10 por ciento al aluminio que ingrese a los EE. UU.
El presidente dice que el exceso de acero y aluminio importados es una «farsa» y perjudica a los trabajadores y la industria estadounidenses.
Al hacer el tan esperado anuncio el jueves, Trump dice que la industria de Estados Unidos ha sido «devastada por prácticas agresivas de comercio exterior».

President says U.S. addressing «assault on our country»
WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump is announcing steep tariffs on imports of steel and aluminum to address what he says is an «assault on our country.»
Mr. Trump says a 25 percent tax will apply to steel imports, and 10 percent will be added to aluminum brought into the U.S.
The president says the excess of imported steel and aluminum is a «travesty» and hurts American workers and industry.
In making the long-awaited announcement Thursday, Trump says the U.S. industry has been «ravaged by aggressive foreign trade practices.»
Said Mr. Trump, «It’s really an assault on our country.»
