Usuarios de las redes sociales no tardaron en reaccionar a este comentario. En algunos tuits podía leerse: «Eso es exactamente lo que alguien diría si su esposa en realidad no estuviera ahí», o «resulta extraño, como tratando de convencer a los medios de que Melania está ahí».
Otros comentarios a estas teorías sugerían que, finalmente, Melania se había cansado de aguantar al señor presidente y había decidido dejarle. Y otros, quizás los más racionales, indicaban que probablemente había alguna razón para ocultar a la verdadera Melania, o bien, para que una falsa apareciera junto a Donald Trump.
