Bueno, Yo soy nacida y criada en Cuba. Vine a este bello pais en el 1993 a la edad de 14 años.

•¿Cuáles considera sus mayores fortalezas?

Mis mayores fortalezas personalmente son las siguientes. Tengo un extremo sentido de los valores familiares, soy muy consciente de el tiempo ajeno, por esa misma razon nunca llego tarde a ninguna entrevista y finalmente, me encanta conocer personas nuevas y entablar nuevas amistades.

• ¿Cuáles considera sus mayores defectos?

Bueno, ahi si se pone la cosa un poco mas seria. Mis mayores defectos puedo decirte que son, que me tomo las cosas muy a pecho y personalmente, otro defecto es que a veces no se cuando dejar de trabajar y darme un espacio para la vida personal y el peor de todos es que me gustan mucho los dulces. (Bueno, vivo la vida tratandome de convencer que este no es un defecto)

• ¿Cuáles son sus aficiones?

Me encanta leer, cocinar, oir musica y bailar.

• ¿Cuáles son sus libros favoritos?

Me gusta muchisimo Once Minutos de Pablo Coehlo. Tambien los poemas de Gabriel Garcia Marquez, pues soy bastante romantica.

• ¿Qué carrera ha estudiado?

Tengo un diploma de Directora Funeral, Operadora de Crematorio, Embalsamadora de los Estados Florida y Louisiana soy tambien Notaria publica del estado de la Florida y una Carrera en este campo ya de 20 años.

• ¿Qué le motivó a elegir la carrera que usted?

Mi mayor impulso para emprender esta Carrera surgio a raiz de una mala experiencia, al ver a un amigo de familia fallecer y el trabajo que le hicieron que estubo horrible.
Me impacto de una manera tan brutal que decidi dejar la academia de policia en la que estaba en ese momento y dedicarme a el servicio de las familias que han perdido un ser querido. Soy la primera generacion de mi familia que decidio tomar este camino.

• ¿Que es lo que mas te gusta de tu trabajo?

Bueno, en realidad no puedo decir que hay algo que me gusta mucho mas que otra cosa. Este campo tiene muchas areas que no permiten que uno le pierda el interes. Pero si tuviese que elegir, diria que tendria que ser el embalsamar a las personas. Es una labor verdaderamente de amor.

• ¿Cuál es su mayor objetivo?

Mi mayor objetivo, ahora que estoy en Louisiana, es llegar a ser reconocida por toda nuestra comunidad como la gerente de la Funeraria Hispana de el estado, y no pienso detenerme hasta que logre localizar a la Funeraria Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp en el mapa como el proveedor mas modico para precios y servicios funerales. Nosotros tenemos un super equipo disponible para atender a todas sus necesidades y con los precios mas bajos que cualquiera de nuestros competidores. Y si encuentran un precio mas bajo en alguna parte, solo con llamarme tienen y se los igualo. Aparte de que tengan la paz mental de saber que van a lidear con un professional que los va a tratar como a su propia familia.
• ¿Qué es el reconocimiento más alto alguna vez has conseguido?
El reconocimiento mas alto que me han dado es ser reconocida en Latino American Who’s Who por mis logros con la comunidad hispana de Naples, FL

• ¿Cuántos hijos tienes habla de ellos?

Tengo una hija preciosa de 22 años, que justamente se acaba de graduar con un diploma de Masters y procede a hacer el Doctorado en Japon. Tengo tambien la gran oportunidad de tener en mi vida a la hija de mi novio que tiene 6 añitos. Es como volver a ser mama con un poquito mas de experiencia. Creo que nuestro mayor olgullo es el de ser padres de hijos que continuen con nuestro legado y se hagan personas de bien. Tambien tengo tres gatitos a los que amo como si fueran mis bebes.

• ¿Por qué te gusta tu trabajo de funeraria?

Me encanta mi trabajo porque me pone en una posicion peculiar en la que puedo ayudar a las personas en, posiblemente, el peor momento de sus vidas. Yo entiendo lo que es no sentirse con ningun control sobre alguna situacion tragica y por eso he dedicado mi vida a ayudar y educar a el publico.

¿Cuál crees que es el futuro de los inmigrantes en EE.UU.?

La fundacion de este pais somos los imigrantes, tanto los nacidos en nuestros paises, aquellos que venimos a luchar aqui y tratamos de conseguir una vida mejor como los que , como mi hija, mantienen nuestra cultura, creencias y valores hacia el futuro. Como dice el dicho: “No hay mal que dure 100 años”. Nosotros los inmigrantes somos el futuro de los Estados Unidos!

Where were you born?

Well, I am born and raised in Cuba. I came to this beautiful country in 1993 at the age of 14.

Which do you consider your greatest strengths?

My greatest strengths personally are as follows. I have an extreme sense of family values, I am very aware of someone else’s time, for that same reason I am never late for any interviews and finally, I love meeting new people and making new friends.

• What do you consider your biggest flaws?

Well, there it gets a little more serious. My biggest flaws I can tell you are, that I take things very seriously and personally, another flaw is that sometimes I don’t know when to stop working and give myself a space for personal life and the worst of all is that I like them a lot sweet. (Well, I live life trying to convince me that this is not a defect)

• What are your hobbies?

I love reading, cooking, listening to music and dancing.

• What are your favorite books?

I really like Pablo Coehlo’s Eleven Minutes. Also the poems of Gabriel Garcia Marquez, because I am quite romantic.

• What career have you studied?

I have a diploma of Funeral Director, Crematorium Operator, Embalmer of the States Florida and Louisiana. I am also a Notary Public of the State of Florida and a career in this field for 20 years.

• What motivated you to choose the career that you?

My greatest impulse to undertake this career arose as a result of a bad experience, seeing a family friend die and the work that made him was horrible.

It hit me in such a brutal way that I decided to leave the police academy where I was at that time and dedicate myself to the service of families that have lost a loved one. I am the first generation of my family that decided to take this path.

• What do you like most about your job?

Well, I can’t really say that I like something much more than anything else. This field has many areas that do not allow one to lose interest. But if I had to choose, I would say that it would have to be embalming people. It is a truly labor of love.

• What is your main objective?

My main goal, now that I am in Louisiana, is to become recognized by our entire community as the manager of the Hispanic Funeral Home of the state, and I will not stop until I can locate the Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp Funeral Home on the map as the most modest provider for prices and funeral services. We have a super team available to meet all your needs and with the lowest prices than any of our competitors. And if they find a lower price somewhere, just calling me they have and I match them. Apart from having the peace of mind of knowing that they will lead with a professional who will treat them like their own family.

• What is the highest recognition you have ever achieved?
The highest recognition they have given me is to be recognized in Latino American Who’s Who for my accomplishments with the Hispanic community of Naples, FL

• How many children do you have talk about them?
I have a beautiful daughter of 22 years, who just graduated with a Masters diploma and proceeds to do the Doctorate in Japan. I also have the great opportunity to have in my life the daughter of my boyfriend who is 6 years old. It’s like being a mom again with a little more experience. I believe that our biggest pride is to be parents of children who continue with our legacy and become good people. I also have three kittens that I love as if they were my babies.

• Why do you like your funeral work?

I love my job because it puts me in a peculiar position where I can help people in possibly the worst moment of their lives. I understand what it is like not to feel with any control over any tragic situation and that is why I have dedicated my life to helping and educating the public.

What do you think is the future of immigrants in the US?

The foundation of this country is the immigrants, both those born in our countries, those who come to fight here and try to get a better life like those who, like my daughter, maintain our culture, beliefs and values towards the future.

As the saying goes: «There is no harm that lasts 100 years.» We immigrants are the future of the United States!
