Por qué la Semana Santa cambia de fecha?

La conmemoración de la muerte y resurrección de Jesús es a veces a finales de marzo y otras tantas en abril.

Cada año varían las fechas de Semana Santa y existe una razón histórica para ello cada año. En estas fechas los cristianos celebran la resurrección de Jesús. Esta es su celebración más importante del año. De hecho, durante los tres primeros siglos era la única fiesta que celebraban.

La muerte de Cristo ocurrió cerca a la Pascua Judía. Los evangelios se refieren a esta celebración en la última cena, cuando Jesús se reúne con sus discípulos para celebrar la fiesta en la que los judíos recordaban su salida de Egipto. Según el judaísmo, los hebreos deben renovar cada año esta celebración el día 15 del mes de Nisan, que empieza con la primera luna nueva de primavera.
Con el paso del tiempo y desde el I Concilio Ecuménico de Nicea en el año 325, la Semana Santa se celebra el primer domingo de luna llena después del equinoccio primaveral (alrededor del 21 de marzo). Así el domingo de Pascua acontece en un paréntesis de 35 días, entre el 22 de marzo y el 25 de abril.

With the passing of time and since the First Ecumenical Council of Nicaea in the year 325, Holy Week is celebrated on the first Sunday of the full moon after the spring equinox (around March 21). Thus, Easter Sunday occurs in a parenthesis of 35 days, between March 22 and April 25.
